The UK Gift Card and Voucher Association (UKGCVA) has announced the speakers for its 2017 conference at The Grand Connaught Rooms, London, on 1st March 2017.

The 2017 event answers the question ‘Is the gift card industry ready for the modern consumer?’, and will be sponsored by SVS, who is lead sponsor for the second year running. The speaker list will offer a diverse range of views and expertise on the topic, with panel discussions and Q&A sessions to provide additional opportunities for delegates to become involved.

The keynote speaker is Will Higham, consumer futurist, strategist and founder of the strategic consultancy Next Big Thing. Will’s session opens the conference with a discussion on how to anticipate the demands, behaviours and expectations of tomorrow’s retail consumer.

Joining him will be Maureen Hinton, Group Research Director at GlobalData (previously Verdict Retail), who will give an exclusive launch of the UKGCVA’s ‘State of the Nation’ research with insights from consumers, gift card experts and senior executives from UK retailers. Maureen is a regular writer and commentator on the retail industry, and is a member of the KPMG Retail Think Tank.

Christer Holloman, technology trends expert and CEO of instalment payments firm Divido, will take the stage later in the day to explore how the gift card industry can grow as a result of innovation and new technologies. Christer was formerly a technology feature writer for Sky News and is the author of Amazon bestseller The Social Media MBA.

Gail Cohen, Director General of UKGCVA, comments: “We are thrilled to have so many high profile speakers from the retail sector at this year’s conference. The gift card and voucher industry in the UK is growing year-on-year, and this conference brings together stakeholders and key influencers to share new ideas and explore how we can develop greater insights on how to innovate and address the demands of the modern consumer.”
